Ideas for YouTube QR codes
Video, channel or playlist?
- Single video — best when you want people to watch one thing, like a setup guide.
- Playlist — great for a series or course; you can add videos later and the code still works.
- Channel — best for growing subscribers.
Use the short youtu.be link where you can: shorter links make simpler, faster-scanning codes. Keep the video public or unlisted — private videos won't play for people who scan.
YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. This tool isn't affiliated with YouTube; the play icon is a generic symbol.
YouTube QR code questions
How do I make a QR code for a YouTube video?
Click Share under the video, copy the link, paste it above and download the QR code.
Can the video start at a certain time?
Yes. Tick "Start at" in YouTube's Share dialog before copying, so the link includes the timestamp.
Will it open the YouTube app?
On phones with the YouTube app, the link usually opens in the app; otherwise in the browser.
Does it work for unlisted videos?
Yes. Anyone with the link — or the code — can watch an unlisted video. Private videos won't play.
