Everything you can customize
Custom QR codes that people actually scan
A styled code stands out on a poster or package — but only if it still works. That's why every change you make here is decoded in your browser at three sizes. If a color combination or logo makes the code risky, you'll see it before you download.
Design tips
- Contrast first. Dark pattern, light background — at least 4:1.
- Leave a margin. A clear border around the code helps cameras find it.
- Add a call-to-action. A frame like "Scan for the menu" tells people what they'll get before they scan.
- Test on paper. Print one copy and scan it with a couple of phones before a big print run.
Custom QR code questions
Is the custom QR code generator free?
Yes. All styles, logos, frames and download formats are free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Do custom colors affect scanning?
Contrast matters more than color. Keep the pattern clearly darker than the background. Light-on-dark ("inverted") codes fail on many phones, so the checker flags them.
Can I make a round QR code?
Yes — choose Outline → Circle in the Shape tab, or start from the Circle style.
Will my custom QR code expire?
No. It's a static code: the content lives in the pattern, so it works forever.
Can I use a custom QR code on packaging?
Yes. Download the SVG for your packaging artwork; it scales to any size without losing quality.
